From the RI Chapter Chair, Alison Buckser:

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Rhode Island Chapter, I want to welcome you to the Club and our beautiful new website. Rhode Island is a jewel of a state and our volunteers and staff have been working hard to protect it. I hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities we offer for you to get involved. In this website, you can read about our efforts on the political front, get to know your neighbors at our meetings and events, and explore our lovely natural places through our outings. For myself, my volunteer work with the Chapter has been incredibly rewarding. Please explore this site and call or email us if you have any questions.

Sierra Club members are 700,000 of your friends and neighbors. Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet. The Sierra Club is America’s oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.

The Sierra Club operates at three levels: Sierra Club national, chapters (which are typically state-based), and local groups (into which large chapters are divided). The Sierra Club is a democratic organization and at each level, members elect volunteer leadership to guide the Club.
