Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet. The Sierra Club is Americas oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. The Sierra Club operates at three levels: Sierra Club national, chapters (which are typically state-based), and local groups (into which large chapters are divided). The Sierra Club is a democratic organization and at each level, members elect volunteer leadership to guide the Club. The RI Chapter of the Sierra Club: The 2500 Sierra Club members that live in the Ocean State form the Rhode Island Chapter. The Rhode Island Chapter of the Sierra Club represents one of 64 chapters across the U.S. and Canada. Read about some of our history here. The RI Chapter Leadership consists of people giving some of their own time, to make a difference. We encourage your involvement, beyond your active membership, in leading the effort to explore, enjoy and protect our planet! |
